Happy Mountain Kombucha Project

Happy Mountain Kombucha: Buch Tokens
“Happy Mountain Kombucha was created to fuel and inspire your adventurous spirit.” I chose this company for my gift card project based on those words. I believe Kombucha to be healthy and inspirational to all who drink it. This company’s essence stuck out to me for its simple logo design, outdoorsy feel and its wide color pallet. I aimed to create something that captured their happy mountain sense.

I began my design process by looking at their Instagram and website. I took in their style, colors, and their story. I started off by making a word list then thought of ideas based off specific words like mountains, adventures, maps, and anything related to the great outdoors. Once the words started flowing so did the drawing. I started to think I would do a series of connecting cards like a map or connecting all the most famous mountains in the area, but quickly realized I needed something simple like there logo. I also wanted it to be eco-friendly for I knew all outdoorsy people like to minimize waste, so I started to base more of my ideas off of that. Wood was the obvious choice! It has an outdoorsy feel and it can be reused because I created it to have a token amount worth of one kombucha. I chose a small round size to easily be tucked in to a pant pocket or durable enough to be tossed into a backpacking pack when on the move. I chose a deeper etching cut so if there is ware and tare they will still last. As for the packaging I chose something just as earthy and as sturdy as the wood, a canvas sack. The drawstring sack can be reused or recycled.

Overall these tokens and sacks bellow outdoor adventure. I feel these are very solid, friendly, and cohesive to their brand and to the customers who will buy them.
