I recently photographed this image for an article for the quarterly financial magazine of Charles Schwab which is printed and sent out to 2.5 million readers in the USA. The story is about how the IRS requires you to take a certain portion out of your IRA retirement accounts every year starting at age 70. As you get the older, the portion that you’re required to take out becomes larger and larger and this is what this machine depicts visually. I designed, built and finally photographed what you see here.
