Klaus Klemp: Pure Design. In the first half of the twentieth century in and around Germany/ Deutschland und benachbarte Länder in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts
  • Pure Design – In the fist half of the twentieth century in and around Germany is a compact but complete text on a complex topic by art historian Klaus Klemp. It is the third publication in the edenspiekermann_ text series and in its 96 pages in each language (English and German) it is much more extensive than the previous books – really going to the limit of the series concept.
With kind permission of the Bosch GmbH company the text is set in their exclusive  house-face Bosch Sans, »an uncomplicated, friendly sans serif face with quite explicit italics« (Erik Spiekermann, 2011, designer of the Bosch type family).
With its variety of weights and styles it suits the text that contains several names, institutions and quotes to accentuate. Besides including type specimen and an index I also proposed illustrations to be included with each chapter, depicting the icons of German design history.
