Receipts hold an element of mystery. Factual, they are able to communicate pieces of information about an occurrence, but cannot communicate the nature/extent of the scene itself. When they are robbed of this information, the mystery intensifies.

During this experiment, I noticed that particular paper would react differently. On some, when heat was applied, parts of the text would turn white. This was mostly the case with the ones that had been damaged/screwed up.

I also put loose rules in place as a sort of constraint, such as drying in a continuous line for 5-10 seconds. This ensured that I did not allow myself an overabundance of time in particular areas. The focus would then be on making sure I had some impact on the piece.
