The grandma in the apple tree by Mira Lobe is my graduation project of an illustrated children book with interactive elements. My intention was to design a book about a grandmother and her grandchild. It had to be based on a funny plot but I wanted it to have a strong educational quality
as well. The book is designed to be explored by the child in company of the grandma and that way
it provokes experience exchange. It was very important to me to emphasize the matter of retired, who suffer from loneliness and exclusion. The other aim was to rebuild family relations which are loosing up because of social changes and disappearance of multigenerational families.

I decided to extend a traditional children book inspired by the idea of convergence culture.
The results are an activity book, linked animated illustrations, which can be revealed on mobile devices, instructions and sketches of a website and an app.

Part of the project is a design of an activity book. I organized workshops for children aged 6-12.
It was very important part of work which let me verify if illustrations are interesting, the content
is understandable, and the techniques I chose are suitable for users.
