Seasoning packaging often contains more
than 3 types of substrates per bottle.
Typically, glass, stickers and plastics exist
on a single bottle of seasoning. In some
cases, even if the exterior packaging uses
Eco-friendly plant based material, the
seasonings are bagged into a plastic bag
within. This is the easiest way to meet
Canada's strict food regulations and
transportation requirements.
Considering how unlikely the seasoning
bottle will ever be reused or recycled, and
the large carbon footprint a company
creates during the package production,
traditional seasoning packaging should be
replaced with more sustainable and user
friendly alternatives.
Zest Organics is a spices company designed
for the eco-friendly, health conscious consumer.
They want to lead by example for sustainable
practices in the food industry by using smart
design and natural ingredients.
Zest Organics provides a full line of seasonings
made from organic ingredients including herbs,
spices, and customs blends.
Zest Organics' primary goal is to provide the
customers with the best experience of savouring
food. Fresh and long-lasting condiments are
packaged to serve different customer demands.
On top of flavour, a more environmentally
friendly, sustainable and unconventional
packaging is designed to provide the consumers
with a better user experience.
