Etsy CustoDad Birthday Collection
GOAL
This collection was created to attract customers throughout the year. My goal was to create unique designs for parents to use as a starting theme for their children's birthday parties. I wanted to design an assortment so that there would be many themes to choose from when visiting my shop. Designs were meant to be fun and lively and give parents the ability to routinely visit and have a new theme to use every year. My decision to make them Digital Only as Downloads, allows my product to reach Homes and Email Inboxes without the need for additional production work to ship the item.
DESIGN
A collection of Children's Birthday Party Invitations. Each invite is custom designed around popular trending themes and are fully editable with alternate content. A fun theme can make all the difference when planning a child's birthday party and can make the planning a lot more enjoyable as well.
RESULT
With a variety of designs to choose from, I feel there was success in exploring the many themes, layouts and concepts created. I do think the designs were a success, however the amount of birthday invitation options available for customers to choose from is very large leaving my sales in this collection to be average. Many sellers give their customers the ability to customize their content from their personal computers. At CustoDad, i have the customers send me the content they would like edited and then i would personalize it for them. I feel that this is a more hands on and personable way to satisfy customers and give them exactly what they want and error free.
CONCLUSION
Many of my sales are due in large part to the way I market my shop. I tend to use Instagram more than any other channel in Social Media due to the nature and visual product shots that I use to attract customers. Product photography is something I pride myself on. I enjoy creating the scene and dressing the product up to help give a better visual of what the end product would look like for my customers. Keyword use is very important and with my Birthday Collection, i researched many products of similar nature to see what words were being mentioned frequently to attract buyers and help increase click-throughs.
