It was a large home with stained, peeling wallpaper and a curved staircase. The story goes the house was haunted. A handful of curious people and would-be ghost hunters braved the place after dark, but were soon surrounded by candles that lit themselves and floating specters. The people would run screaming and within hours, the house would fade back into the darkness. This Victorian mansion was the home of the mice and they had become quite practiced in keeping people out.

This idea came to me one night before bed. I had to remind myself several times of it before I fell asleep, I didn't want to forget. All work was done in Illustrator and Photoshop with a graphics tablet, tiled patterns are original, and the colors are sampled from Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow film. As an animal lover, I know animals are clever beings. The thought of mice using camouflage, goggles, and parachutes to scare off intruders makes me giggle, I admit.
