A page from my final project document, summerising my research for the project and my inspiration behind each design. Through extensive research, which included looking into the concept of identity, the military clothing company 'Kryptek', the WW1 Dazzle Camouflage and the concept of refraction and light installations by Stephen Knapp, I was apply to respond by developing a strong visual style.
In response to my research I designed four strong abstract visuals to represent each other the themes the poets touch in their work. I applied mono-prints to the digital designs to add texture and dimension to the patterns, as well as communicating a harsh, rough, damaged feeling through the lack of consistent colour, which represent a common theme of dark, graphic concepts discussed in each poets work.
Some example of the final book cover designs, with personalised typography composition to further emphasis the meaning and themes discussed by the poets.
