This nonprofit brochure is for the Human Rights Campaign, which works to foster equality for the LGBT community. The group works with politicians and government groups as well as media groups. The purpose of this particular brochure is to discuss coming out, including what it is, making the decision to do so, and how it can affect the lives of the person coming out and those around them.
The concept was to use a black cover with a rainbow interior as a metaphor for what people hold inside before they come out. Coming out reveals the person’s true colors and the rainbow references both the rainbow flag and the authenticity and vibrancy held inside people.
