Inspired by a series of interviews I conducted with a social worker about the ways people and communities engage with and heal through grief, I wanted to construct a garment that both comforts the wearer and encourages the viewer to engage with my story of bereavement. The concept of a grief sweater was also derived from a number of sweaters of my father's that I accumulated after he passed away.
