This story and illustration was a part of book series I created for my college for Comic Con Mumbai. This is the third part, the twist with this book is that I choose to take up Indian story with International art style.
This is a Sati-based story done in Van Gogh Art style. My love of colors has been expressed here. I took up this story along with this art style for my book because many of us know about Sati and how the ritual is done, but via this art style, I wanted to show the flow of emotions and thoughts of the lady. I wanted to capture the essence of the whole ritual and make the reader feel the moment of "awe"

I started creating this in October 2018, I got inspired by the article of Linda Heaphy on the practice of Sati. I started by dividing the story into 12 parts. The challenge was to make the flow of the story and the art style. Since Van Gogh has a very unique style and flow of the brush. But the most fun part was adding colors to the storyboard, even though this was dont digitally I love the colors of every page and they speak to me on different levels.
Do let me know what you guys think in the comments below. Really appreciate your time and efforts for going through my work.

This project was and is very close to my heart. I enjoyed so much while creating each and every art work for this. One of my best experiences.
