My goal for this project was to use negative and positive space to make a movie poster for the new IT movie. I choose to feature classic elements and themes in the movie to do so.
Georgie’s rain coat is used as the main shape, but the color is changed to black for a more eerie look. A red balloon is used as a head, and Pennywise’s (the clown) makeup creates a face. Pennywise’s house creates the bottom of Georgie's coat. The Lover/Loser text on the sleeve resembles the text that was on the cast of one of the main characters. These elements were chosen because they can bring nostalgia to people who are fans of the original movie, and bring out curiosity in new viewers.
