Macro seeds for BASF

Photography
Photoshop

We received a request form the agency for the agrarian client BASF. The task was to create a calendar picturing grain crops. Among other creative concepts we chose macro shooting. We "performed a casting" of the grains, which sounds awkward, but it appeared to be very exciting. Agrarians selected for us healthy grains and we selected the best under the electron microscope.

It was a challenge to work with the objects of such a small size. The smallest change in the angle would affect the end result. For the shooting we used a special lens with enlarger 5:1 and 50 mpx camera without anti-aliasing filter for having maximum sharp effect. From the first shots we entered the world of macro. On the pages of printed calendar the grain of brassica napus was 1000 times bigger that in reality.

This project showed us more than what we can see with naked eye.

Enjoy the viewing and we are happy to hear your comments!
