Okay, this project has a little bit of a backstory. My dads father was a clock/watch maker, and after he passed away my dad put all of the antique clocks on display in a glass cabinet. For Christmas I wanted to do something for my dad and create a distressed looking t-shirt vinyl design.

Using Adobe Illustrator I took a picture of one of the old clocks and traced the outline using Pen Tool. Then I chose some vintage looking colours to support the design. On top of the artwork I layered on a distress template to tie it all together.

For the text, I created a banner using Pathfinder, and again on top of the typeography I put another layer of the distress template.

I printed the design with a Roland print/cutter and using a t-shirt iron I applied it to an old navy shirt I had splattered with bleach.

I only wish I had caught my dad's reaction on camera! He loved it!
