"Runway Invaders" | Typographical Poster
This project that began in late December was based around the idea of designing a typographical poster that would make somewhat of a foreshadow-like reference to the problems of drones flying near commercial airports, especially given the incident at Gatwick Airport between the 19th and 21st of December 2018, by the use of a visual style that combines minimalism and simplicity together.

As you will see, the illustration aspect of the design has been carried out by the use of a multi-coloured gradient pattern acting as the evening sky (as noticeable by the light of the sun being visible down the bottom, whilst the darker night sky starting to settle in from the top), alongside numerous jet streams signifying many aircrafts not being able to land, given the presence of drones also flying around within the same airspace.

Text-wise however, only a header and a sub-header have been included. The header of course reading “Runway Invaders” as a humorous name-reference to the actual drones, whilst the sub-header reads “Commercial travel’s newest nightmare has arrived” as a way of pointing out the amount of disruption a huge business could face, given the flight and speed capabilities these devices can carry out.

For the display mockup, the final outcome has been hung up by the use of wire and paper clips for a more simple less-compact look, in order to help emphasize the actual size of the poster itself without the feeling of making it appear compact or restrict (much like how it would appear inside of a frame).

So, be sure to tell me what you think in the comment section below!
