SENIOR PROJECT - BILINGUAL INITIATIVE

"UNDO COMPOSTING INITIATIVE"

SENIOR PROJECT

A bilingual senior project that focused on the creation of a communal composting initiative. As part of the research, I conducted a pilot study on community composting with 5 of my neighbours where I got the chance to interact with a small part of the community and try to increase general knowledge on composting. The study was also a chance to understand how would part of the community behave and interact in this study.

The final outcome of the semester-long project was a small bilingual initiative called UNDO that aims on educating individuals and getting them involved in their own composting projects at home. That included the branding of the initiative, 3 posters that raise the issue and reveal the initiative to the public, infographics that take you through the steps of creating your own compost bin from start to the end in 5 steps, a composting kit that included what a person would need to start their own compost bin at home, a simple animated infographic about composting and a short documentary about the pilot study and how it was conducted.

The project was exhibited in May 2015 to the public as part of the College of Arts & Creative Enterprises senior projects held at Zayed University. All work created was exhibited and the composting kits were sold on spot to ensure that they fall in the hands of individuals that are willing to give composting a try.
