As long and hard as it can be dealing with the long night in the north latitudes, it is also an enchantment to observe the light during those few hours in the shortest time of the year here in Iceland. Waiting patiently to see the light and the sun rises is like contemplating a film being developed from darkness to shapes and colours. All the pics below were taken on the Reykjanes peninsula on the 2nd shortest day of the year (22/12) between 10 am and 2 pm.
