Do broken people become artists or are artists meant to be broken people?
A coin is tossed and it floats in the air, taking graceful turns, responding to the energy. It is tossed high and must respond, head tail, head tail
With each flip comes the phases, first the fine life that seeps into the aperture, models beautified by essential oils, birthday dolls bringing their best smiles to rock the special day, couples and lovers drowning in the joy and musical beat of emotion, sculptures depicting the worth of the potters, Corporates fighting for best captions that represent their competitive edge, portraits for keeps
Then the coin lands in His hands and is flipped
Perhaps fate
The exposure darkens and enters worry, panic, bills, broken relationships, technology change, lack of equipment, bad debts, lost friends, goals not reached….sigh
That while the dark scale leans more with weight, still I am expected to polish and serve the other life too that makes rest of you shine. Who will pick me up.. who will search to find?
For that is the life of a photographer and each burst expresses more color, Grace or not.
