'WEAVE' is a stool that was made with the motif of Korean traditional handicraft called 'Jukbuin'. 'Jukbuin' is a bedding that has been used since the Joseon Dynasty, and was used to cool off in the summer night. This 'Jukbuin' is basically made of only thin bamboo, but it has a strong durability. The reason that 'Jukbuin' can have such durability is because of the unique structure of overlapping layers in three directions.

We wanted to reinterpret the structure of this traditional way in a modern way for making it more robust.

So, 'WEAVE', a stool with the charm of coexistence of tradition and modernity, was created.

‘WEAVE’는 한국의 전통 공예품인 죽부인을 모티브로 한 스툴입니다. ‘죽부인’은 조선 시대부터 사용된 침구로, 무더운 여름 잠자리에서 더위를 식히기 위한 용도로 사용되었습니다. 이러한 ‘죽부인’은 얇은 대나무만을 재료로 만들어지지만, 내구성이 튼튼하다는 특징을 가지고 있습니다. ‘죽부인’이 이렇게 튼튼한 내구성을 가질 수 있는 이유는 3가지 방향으로 겹겹이 교차하는 특유의 엮임 구조 덕분입니다.

우리는 이 전통적 방식의 구조를 현대적으로 재해석하여 좀 더 튼튼한 가구를 만들고자 하였습니다. 그렇게, 전통과 현대가 공존하는 매력을 지닌 스툴, ‘WEAVE’가 만들어졌습니다.
