This fall has been an interesting one for recruiting graphics, as I really expanded and experimented with different designs to help set a part our school and brand from others recruits may see. Over summer I found my club team -- A.S. Roma -- and started doing designs for them, and they soon turned into a testing ground for ideas that then became MSU football ones. I found the Roma ones to resonate well on social media so naturally I adapted those into our efforts. Along with this, I utilized photos I shot during pre-game this season to spin them into recruiting graphics as well so showcase the on-field experience of MSU football. It was key to have that eye and intent going into the shoot. 

Here's a round up of some of the projects and their inspirations/how they were adapted to recruiting as today is National Signing Day:

You can never go wrong when Totti is on your side!

A simple name/number change from a photo I shot in our game vs. CMU, highlighting the brotherhood of our team.

Can't go wrong when De Rossi is on your side, either -- the wallpaper graphics are optimized to fit perfectly with the time on a lock screen as well. 

Along with 2019s, we did these graphics for 2020s -- so I lead in making a logo to go with them using the class hashtag #Spar2y0n. I'm not one for logo design, but it was great having the other designers (shoutout to Joe, Carter, Rob) in helping make it work.

Prior to this was when I began playing around with illustrations again (Roma, seen here) and decided to take that momentum into recruiting, mixing up the looks while highlighting our successes recently.

In the Roma version, part of their anthem is what cuts through Kluivert's face, and for ours it's the part of our fight song that always gets the crowd going. A nice play on words here too with the record. Used with an album cover mock-up.

This time, the jersey IS their lock screen, and the jersey material ties it all together. No special adaptations here.

This stressed the on-field experience, as well as giving a more up-close look with the square shape to mix it up from all the desktop and phone size ones. 

Back with the illustration adaptation, showing off the tunnel banner while giving it a dynamic and depth-filled look with the walls and background field. The sleeves were contemporary addition as the weather turned into football weather.

All of these graphics were made in campaign style for all our recruits (2019 & 2020s after Sept. 1). I love the variety of looks presented here and am excited to see these guys play in the Green and White for the next few years! Credit to our whole creative staff as well for killing it year round, I'm blessed to be able to work with them even in just a niche role of recruiting! Go Green!
