SUBSTRACTIONS
Substractions is a balancing act of colour, shape, composition and texture.
Traversing the colour spectrum arranging the elements that I associated with each.

I set out to create a series of still life arrangements that host an assortment of objects and bring it all together into one unifying piece. Each artwork would explore a single colour and how other colours, textures and shapes can create harmony with it.
While the whole project was created digitally with 3D software, the objects in each artwork were made in different ways. Using 3D scanned assets captured through real life photography, bringing them into the computer and giving them tinted realistic textures. Creating simulations and saving out a single state from the reaction, one of them generating a coral growth effect, others simulating a combination of fur and wind. Some more primitive looking shapes were made with traditional 3D modelling techniques and getting the perfect alignment of objects.
