4th Quarter Newsletter
This quarter our focus is on the release of a new brand category of beers that are “better for you.” The target audience for these brands are active or folks trying to be more health conscious about their alcohol consumption. We wanted to associate the beers with activity and sport and not as a supplement. I also tied in some holiday elements but we did not want that to be the focus of the illustration which I think it played in well.
I had a lot of fun with the thumbnails, we selected a few and I went into quick tonal studies to show the depth and contrast.
Here’s the selected design. I used Adobe Capture to bring in the pencil sketch to digital, then I redrew it in photoshop and messed with my composition. I wasn’t sold on the type so I removed it and let the article use the header.
The illustration was redone for a simpler image for out email header that links to the Newsletter without giving too much of it away.
Along with the main editorial, I redesigned another portion of the newsletter to fall within the holiday season, here is the before and after of the brewery.
