St. Petersburg is the second most visited city in Russia. According to statistics, 2017 was a record year for Saint Petersburg, with strong growth in arrivals including museum visitors. More than 7.2 million arrivals to the city were recorded with a 50/50 split between domestic and international. The city needs its own tourist identity that covers and reflects the classical, historical and modern sides of It.

The logo is based on one of the mystic creatures, Hippocampus, that can be found on bridges and various other architectural elements. Additional graphics consist of deconstructed architectural elements that reflect on each other in different ways, recreating an image of the city.
