Children's bed cover illustration and pattern design
This is a project I did some time ago, for a large scale production of children's bedding. The specifics of this job require it to be done in vector and to keep the colours below a certain number.
Started off as proposing four characters to choose from
We chose No.1's style with the client and I was able to focus on developing the rest of the illustration. I roughly drew the characters.
Simultaneously I started the fun part - drawing the patterns, and went through a lot before the final designs
After focusing on a few patterns, I focused on creating sketches for the first print illustrations. As the target medium of this children's illustration is mass-printing of textile, children's bedding, I kept the number of colours at a minimum.
Final proposals with the two characters, boy and girl. Plus teddy bear.
Then off we go onto vectorizing the whole thing. We decided to drop the biy and stick with Teddy Bear and Girl only. Work in progress and pattern bits below.
Final vector design of the kids' illustration
This is the final vector print intended for pillows and bedding cover. Inner sides of the bed cover were with the same pattern
Bonus: Small and a little bit innacurate 3D previews
Thank you for your time!
