The portraits are created from meeting people on Tinder and life-painting them using ink. The printing plates are made by transferring the paintings to photo-polymer intaglio plates. Each print contains three plates in blue, red and yellow which are processed using different light units and thus contain different amounts of information from the original image. Below the print the information from their Tinder profile- name, job, and distance has been letterpressed. The project aims to discuss the way we meet online and offline. The title indicates that we need to slow down, look each other in the eyes and focus in order to understand get the picture of each other. The process of this project has switched between online and offline, digital and physical image, and slowing down using this old craftsmanship while still making use of new digital techniques.
