The gentle pink and white diamond moth
gracefully flutters about the pink diamond orchids
upon which it feeds. Harvesting their poison,
the Moth’s matching pink diamonds signal in subtle warning
to haughty predators who see weakness in its
gossamer wings. Beneath fragile skin and delicate manners
beats a pulse of deadly cyanide and a speedy demise
for any so arrogant as to attack it.

White Gold, Pink Tourmaline, Black, White and Pink Diamond

Ethereal predators in black and white gold, rubies and
glistening diamonds linger silently across
the fingers. A distinctly opposing yet matching pair,
they must lie together in perfect conflict,
a dark and ominous echo of the yin and yang.
Their lethal venom swirls and sparkles brightly by day
and even brighter in the dark of night,
as good and evil hang in exquisite balance.

White Gold, Ruby, Diamond
In a delicate grey gold branch of cherry blossom,
two serpents tangle in a deadly embrace.
Dark as the night in precious, blackened palladium and
black diamonds, the ruby eyes of the black demon
sparkle desperately in the face of his opponent.
The submissive pose of the skeletal frame of his adversary,
crafted in contrasting white palladium
and diamond pave, belies its impending victory.
The rose gold, dusty pink enamel and pink diamonds
of the cherry blossom frame this vicious scene
with delicate beauty – their mortal petals a vivid metaphor
for the ephemeral nature of life.

In classic yellow gold, black enamel and
white diamonds, the confident predators descend upon
the magnificent fruit of the orchid.
Lured by the sumptuous expanse of sapphire,
tsavorite and diamond pave, cushioned in the mouth
of the orchid, the wasps are deceived by the beauty
of this deadly flower. Trapped and engulfed in the rich blue,
they perish as the carnivorous orchid
awaits its next victim.

White Diamond, Enamel
The blue ringed octopus: an extraordinary marine beauty,
its golden sapphire and diamond tentacles
writhe, twist and roll as the octopus tempts and entices,
blue sapphires sparkling and opal eyes glistening.
A tactile jewel of the sea, the octopus begs to be handled
- but look closely and you’ll see a sign of warning;
the inky blue skull motif serves
as a dramatic caution of the deadly toxic bite
awaiting those who dare to touch it.

Yellow Gold, Yellow, Orange and Blue Sapphire, Cognac,
Champagne and White diamond, Black Opal

The deadly Black Widow commands her diamond web,
spun across black gold thorny branches
of glittering grey diamonds and pure white leaves.
Captured at the heart is her most precious treasure,
an exceptional tanzanite of brilliant violet.
Poised on her delicate black gold legs, she spins her
fine silken chains, suspending diamonds like
elegant morning dew. In her shadow, her lusting admirer
in his perilous pursuit of courtship is cautioned
by the deadly female and the treasure she guards
– the price of trespass will be his life.

White Gold, Black, White and Grey Diamonds, Tanzanite, Enamel

Camouflaged amongst petals of rarest lagoon tourmaline,
mandarin garnet and verdant green emerald,
the enigmatic emerald and black diamond poison dart frog
creeps through white diamond encrusted vines.
The succulent temptation of its bright tones a glossy
warning to other jungle creatures,
don’t be fooled by its candy colours, the merest touch
of this glistening morsel brings swift death.

Mandarin Garnet, Emerald, Black and White Diamond

The proud lion snarls onto the arm, its stylised mane
tracing a crown of golden curls,
peppered with graduated brown and white diamonds,
framing a glorious caramel sapphire.
The ferocious musculature conceals the glistening delicacy of
elegant diamond pavé which lies inside;
symbolising the danger of an excess of pride to protect,
or mask, the delicate vulnerability
of the human heart.
