Roots Rated rebrands as Matcha
RootsRated.com, founded in 2012, is the leading website for where to go outdoors. The team behind the RootsRated.com publishing business formed RootsRated Media in 2016 to leverage their experience to develop proprietary content marketing software for lean marketing teams. By mid-2018, RootsRated Media had raised its Series A led by TechOperators, relocated from Chattanooga to Atlanta, and made the decision to rebrand as Matcha.

Widgets & Stone worked closely with Matcha’s leadership and marketing team to develop the new name and identity design. The creative team explored dozens of design solutions, settling on the bold and bright brand look. Striking photo treatments, distinct typography and well crafted illustrations round out the visual styles for the new brand.
As Matcha, the company is a leading content marketing platform for lean marketing teams selling direct-to-consumer. Small and growing organizations use Matcha to fuel their marketing and drive sustainable growth. Easily and efficiently source, distribute and measure content to drive customer awareness, acquisition and retention.
