Horror Maze is a cooperative game with a twist. Being 3-5 players, one player is the villain, actively trying to kill the other players who are the survivors. The survivors must fight their way through the map, killing very powerful monsters left and right, and defeating one boss monster to win. However, the villain gets to spawn in powerful monsters that can kill the players. This game is meant to be played with high levels of strategy for both sides.
Here is an image of what a survivor card looks like.
Here is one of the more powerful items that the players get to find. Players must learn to conserve ammunition while trying to kill monsters. With 3 actions during a players turn, they could deal up to 9 damage to a monster, but they need to keep track of ammunition and what other actions might help their team.
I was a game designer for this final project. I was in charge of creating the rules, monsters, and making the game mechanics.
Kireh was another game designer and was in charge of making game mechanics and monster cards.
Kim was another game designer and was in charge of drawing the map by hand (in the first iteration) and making the final map in Photoshop.
Jameel was another game designer and was in charge of creating item cards in InDesign.
All images used are placeholders until we make our own art.
