This was made in response to a first year university brief. I liked exploring the different aspects that make up the typeface ‘Futura’. As ‘Futura’ was chosen as the typeface for the Apollo 11 moon landing plaque and for the movie poster "2001: A space Odyssey", I wanted to have a certain space theme to my poster to emphasis the uniqueness of how Futura has been used. I decided to use the phrase “I’m out of this world" in a very similar style to reference the Space Odyssey Poster, but also to represent how fantastic and BEAUTIFUL Futura is as a typeface, and how it literally is used out of this world on the moon. I added some simple circles and dashes after each line of white text to represent the main geometric elements that make up Futura. The neon green was chosen as I felt it represented an alien/outer space vibe to keep in my space theme. I wanted to keep the feel of my poster very minimal, clean, and understated- As I felt that it was the best way to represent the personality of my chosen typeface, Futura.
