Mala Vida red wine, is the result of a project between the winemaker Toni Arráez Calabuig , from Bodegas Antonio Arráez placed in a small village called La Font de la Figuera in Valencia,Spain and the Italian Francesca Della Croce, sommelier, Graphic Designer and photographer. Our “mala vida” began in 2008. The idea arose after finding a wine that was complex, at the same time fruitly and able to surprise, to come closer to current market needs.
The new consumer trends lead to highly concentrated aromatic wines, good colour intensity, unctuousity in the mouth, with volume but also make them easier to drink.
The challenge was to get a wine with enough concentration and complexity to surprise not only the professional but also the consumer who was initiating in the wine world , a wine that nowadays is understood and enjoyed by mala vida´s fans
Once we had the wine, Francesca Della Croce took the design of the label .She created an image that reflected the modernity and the treat for the senses ; a good wine dedicated to mala vida lovers. I liked the contradiction of good wine versus mala vida wine.
The label has what `Mala vida´ means to us: music, art, travelling ,culture, gigs, a good glass of wine , creativity , women, love…
We chose the name “Mala Vida” because in Spanish” Mala Vida” is a kind of good life style and also a popular expression. When I first drew the label I thought about what it meant to me. Ideas, images, sensations came to my mind such as `Rebel without a cause´,enjoyment,recreation... ,and I tried to explain my concept of “ Mala Vida” using icons in the way to make easier the understanding of my idea/concept .I wanted to play with words and images,

And then I decide to write one of my favourite phrase of Groucho Marx on the behind of the label that remember me a funny moment during my life in Florece “Everyone should believe in something, I believe I'll keep drinking, sorry...”Today Mala Vida red wine is the number one in the Valencian Country market.
We support a lot of artistic projects and art expositions.
