Childhood Week - Winter 2018

1.Search - At first I wanted to draw myself, searching for some interesting items in a magical scene, but then I realised that the thing I'm searching the most, and had searched for since I was a child is my pencil sharpener or eraser. It always mystically disappears and usually ends up in front of me somehow. Or my mom finds it in a second. I guess it's magic.
2.Giant - I actually have an older brother who is almost 2 meters tall. So when I was little he really seemed like a giant to me, I have to admit that I was really proud to have such a tall brother, I felt so cool and protected. He is still huge and a lot taller than me.
3. Parade - Where I live, a day before Christmas the boys from my village would dress as these monsters called "Chuma", and would go to houses where girls would wait for them and try to guess who is under the mask, and if they don't guess correctly they would have to give them a kiss. And the boys would haggle about the number of kisses, and usually end up with just one. When I was little I would watch them go through the streets from my window, and it looked like a monster parade to me. I really wanted to participate but unfortunately it was reserved for boys.
4.Rain - When I was a kid I loved summer rain. The weather would be sunny and the asphalt would be really hot. And I would feel that sensation, when you know that it would start pouring, but just a couple of minutes. After that the puddles would be so nice and warm from the heath of the ground. And of course, I would soak my feet and hands in them. 😁 Such a nostalgic feeling!
5.Games - When I was a kid I liked to put things in order, make domino chains and make castles of playing cards. And believe it or not that was really fun for me. In spite of that my room was, and always will be, a mess.
6.Howl - Our first dog was named Lila, and she couldn't bark or howl. She simply didn't make sounds at all, not even at other dogs or animals. But she was an amazing dog, I really miss her. On the other hand now i have two small doggies who have the biggest voices ever.
7.Red - When I saw the prompt I immediately thought of my mom. She has a wonderful red coat which is at least 20 years old but is still beautiful, and whenever I see someone in a red coat I think it's her. And coincidentally she also has red hair and I just love drawing us together. So here is a little gift for my mom.

Childhood Week - Winter 2018

This was my take on childhood week this year. I based all the drawings on memories and experiences from my childhood. :)
