Fashion trend report 2016
The newest dark lip is every 90’s kids dream. The trend is back and anyone who ever wished to be a high-schooler with dark lipsticks and chokers, intuit time are having deja vu now. It all began when celebrities started walking the red carpets wearing dark lip colors. The shade got darker and people couldn’t resist themselves from loving the different hues. Black no more just belongs to the goth and had gloriously entered the runway. The industry is going through a black smoky eyes and black lipstick phase which is dominating the fashion world. Rihanna’s collaboration with puma was much awaited by the fans and Gigi stepped out of the runway for the collection, slaying a super goth glam aesthetic with vampy black lips and white tinged hair unrecognisably.

One of the most unforgettable trend from the 90’s is the black lip and celebrities, like Kylie Jenner, Rihanna and Katy Perry are owning the look with their vampy pouts. Celebrities are holding on strong to deep and richly pigmented lip colors in burgundy, mahogany, plum, brown and merlot that we're used proving that it isn't a just a fad. Taylor Swift embraces dark lips as her personal style has transitioned from sweet and retro to brawny and grunge. Miranda Kerr have switched from her signature cherry red lipstick for a glossy bordeaux shade.

Since lips have become the major focal point these days and due to the extravagant lip color palette we keep everything else fairly simple. Start by priming the eye, then apply a pink or beige color all over the eyelid. For a little glow, sweep a sheer gold shadow on top. A few swipes of mascara to the outer lashes makes them look alluring and with the skin looking so fresh, it almost has the effect of no-makeup makeup with a twist. It may just be the biggest lipstick trend of the season.

Fashion weeks are going crazy and dark lips went seriously gothic last season. We are now seeing the renewal of moody, romantic, ultra-dark lipstick. Thanks to Emanuel Ungaro who made it happen on the runway. Pioneering the dark lip trend designers, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior bring the models on the stage with bare and eyes minimal at the autumn/winter 2016 shows, leaving lusciously deep lips to take the focus.

Wearing dark lips can be scary though and women fear carrying it on. Although brown sounds a safer color but you got to be careful with this one. It can make a look go from drab to fab instantaneously, but it works just as fast in the opposite way too. Pairing it with neutral shade clothes and minimalist makeup is the key. If still scared to switch to dark shades from the natural look, take baby steps and try wearing lip color by dabbing on a bit of a stronger hue like a pink or a red can make you comfortable Consider it turn to the dark side.

A well chosen lip hue palette is surprisingly flattering enough for this party season. Blackcurrant, plum, aubergine, burgundy, claret this season's favourite lipstick hues are decidedly dark. Burgundy is the fashion world’s beloved sweetheart. These colors are the typical for fall and winter and when it comes to makeup there is no better way to add dark shades than by adding a dark lipstick. These shades include dark red and purple, brown and maybe even black if you are bold enough. They look phenomenal on all skin tones. These shades creates a juxtaposition attitude and personality and enhances the look by making it fierce. Darks are the new neutrals now.
