Vulva is a series of three self-published zines, with the goal of destigmatizing the idea of feminism. The zines take on a clean style, with strong typography to make the viewer feel as though the author is on a megaphone proclaiming the ideas to an audience, but with a soft visual appearance so the viewer does not feel intimidated.

The zine includes infographics about the feminist movement, current events regarding women’s rights and general information to help empower and enlighten the reader on feminism in its entirety. Scattered throughout each zine are internal thoughts, personal stories and letters from the author which detail their struggle with understanding the idea of feminism and their journey to becoming a feminist. 

The goal of the zine is to connect with the men and women who are scared of the idea of feminism and who don’t truly know what it means. An eye catching colour palette with soft tones was chosen to attract the viewer and create a less intimidating look into the world of feminism. The writing and internal thoughts call for the viewer’s action and speak with a sense of urgency to help the viewer realize that these are rights we are still fighting for today.
