Inside Struggle of Kabaddi

A friend of mine, Anoop got across Miss Neelam Sahu as a kid while playing state level baseball in Dwarka. He was busy monkeying around when a tight slap brought him to senses. Little did he know that he was causing trouble near the most disciplined sports teacher around Dwarka. Growing up Anoop noticed there were certain girls in his neighbourhood who guys did not dare to tease, these girls were locally known as Raj Nagar ki ladkiyaan or Raj Nagar girls. Upon further enquiry Anoop found out that these tough girls were promising Kabaddi players and most of them were playing at the national level. Soon he found out that their coach is none other than the strict yet celebrated Neelam Sahu maam. Angst transformed into respect as he found out the coach and her husband Ajay Sahu, a Kho-kho coach trained these girls for free. They even helped the poor girls with food and lodging. Accommodating them in their own house by vacating the hall on the first floor. Hence started the story of Palam Sports Club. Anoop had been planning a film on the Sahu's since a long time but he could not find help. Luckily he discussed the matter with me and I immediately signed up. We made a strategy to help the coaches out through a long term sustaining plan. We planned a campaign on Milaap with our documentary. The film received a fairly good response and the campaign was a success.
