Located in Portland, Uttú is a store that gives clothes a second life by transforming them into new treasures.
At the store the diverse textile traditions stand out. Our textiles and fibers come from garments with a story, we create a new gem by using a variety of handmade production techniques.
The name comes from the Sumerian mythology and it referes to the goddess of weaving and clothing. The visual approach of the project is meant to enhance a cultural mosaic. The textiles used to create the imagery come from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Guatemala and Bolivia.
