Growing Up In Scott's Run

Growing Up In Scott's Run
This book was illustrated for a final project and designed to gear towards children. The purpose of this project was to let the voices of Scott's Run be heard and shared in the form of a children's book, so that those growing up now can learn from the past, and the great values found in Scott's Run can live on in the future.
This book was hand casebound and is 6 x 8 inches on cloth hardbound. The book-binding process took around 5 hours total.
This is a story told by George Sarris about growing up in Scott's Run, WV; a town that was once home to many immigrants and coal miners in the early to mid-1900s. Although the town of Scott's Run has long since changed and is no longer on the map, the lives of those who grew up there (including George) still hold it close to their heart. The people who lived in Scott's Run can attest to the many values and memories shared that were worth so much more than any money or wealth they did not have. This is George's story about his life in Scott's Run.
