Our assignment for our 3D class was to choose a picture from a movie, a game (any medium, really), and reproduce it in 3D. I partnered up with my classmate Nicolas Guignier, and we decided to reproduce a scene from the video game Bioshock 2.
First we modelled all the different parts from the scene we would end up using, without thinking about textures or lighting.
We then started to texture with simple materials and light effects to bring more atmosphere to the scene.
We made a final render with all the elements, textures and lights, as well as an occlusion pass. The renders were then put together in Photoshop, with colour-correction and other small tweaks.
