PRODUCTS ARE BETTER

Project to sensitize children on the importance of the water footprint in the food sector through educational product design.

Bachelor degree Project

The objective of this project is to point out the importance that the water used to produce any kind of food has as some of these require a high amount of water to be produced.
This idea originates from my experience of six months spent in India as an exchange student at National Institute of Design. For this reason, the research has been conducted in the Indian context, specifically in the state of Gujarat. In this area the elevation of temperatures and the constantly increasing drought periods, as well as the growth of population cause an always higher request of water. 
The designer’s role in this project is to promote a line of low water footprints products containing educative games for children, trying to offer an effective solution to the problem and, at the same time, educate the new generation towards a more responsible consumption of food.
