Lucas Valente is an independent writer and editor focusing on poetry and the arts. Brazilian-born in the mid-90s and Carioca — people born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, raised in the US, his writing is based on social issues intertwined with romance and fiction.
A big part of what consists Lucas is made of history and critical thinking. All his narratives are through simple and down-to-earth lines that resemble past and present to his readers. To bring up his branding to life, crossover references and scenarios from New York and Rio de Janeiro in the '90s were employed into the branding in a slightly way to make it personal and embrace his roots. In addition to that, inspiration also comes from the works by Ray Johnson (1927-1995), a conceptualist and artist, being iconic in the art scene of New York City in the late '40s. The grid system and typography work are thought to expand and become bolder as collaterals are added to the stationery to evoke wildness and fearlessness. The solution is a collision of modernism and classical directing Lucas wherever he goes.
