We created this motion design featuring the rich history of the Davao River that inspired us to initiate DesignSouth this year, where artists, designers, and creators meet to share and celebrate their creative journey and craft. We do this in the hope that we can create a nurturing collaborative force that will produce a stream of unique and empowered generations to come.
The exchange of ideas and stories from this old tradition rose Davao City as one of the Philippines most vibrant and progressive cities, a melting pot of various cultures.
STYLEFRAMES
CHARACTER & ILLUSTRATION
The character design is mostly based on the patterns of the indigenous people’s traditional clothing.
The geometric shapes, hues and lines of these patterns help the shape not just the characters’ clothes but as well as their actual form and represent the richness of culture in Mindanao.
Even in the tides of change in our society, it continues to serve to inspire, enlighten, and unite to celebrate inclusion and creativity.
