Award Design
For this project, I knew that I wanted to give my boyfriend an award. Originally, I was going to make him a "Blanket Hog" embroidered patch. However I came across a laser cut neon sign on Pinterest and scrapped my project. I really wanted to attempt to make a neon sign. I used a part of the Scooby Doo quote "you and me are like two trippy peas in a far out pod" and drew inspiration from 60s band posters. I hand drew the text and the peas in Illustrator then created a psychedelic pattern behind. After the acrylic was cut, I wired remote control lights below it. I found this project to be one of my favorites of the semester.
I've included photos with multiple light settings as well as a video. I also provided various mockups that I made before the final product.
