You probably think "Wait, I know this guy!" That's because he's the forefather of the domestic chicken, first domesticated about 5000 years ago in Asia. So chances are you already know a thing or two about this buddy, like the typical cock-a-doodle-doo sound or its limited ability to fly. But did you also know, that they have a repertoire of up to 30 different sounds, among those distinctive alarm calls for aerial and ground predators? The females are much less flamboyant than the males and use their modest plumage as a means of camouflaging themselves.
