THE SOCIETY OF THE SPECTACLE
GUY DEBORD

Guy Debord, philosopher, sociologist, writer and French director, published his critique about society in 1967. Complex and articulated joint of a marxist but eretic thinker, visionary and self-destructive, we can attribute to him the undoubted merit of having imagined the cultural landscape that would come after him, described in an essay that tells us how we live immersed in the society of entertainment. Debord understands the future of society, where the right to show everything is like pretending the maximum of freedom, without conditioning, without any handbrake.

Starting with its original written and his movie production, The society of the spectacle tries to reproduce the ideology of Debord through a contemporary point of view. Each copy of the book proposes a different sequence of images, elaborated starting from a digital archive of web pages and news from various media, composing in this way a random feed and unexpected narratives: the infinite spectacle of the contemporary era.
