The  story book is based on the illustrations about a Rajasthan based folktale "Hadi Rani". Madhubani art is the art form that beautifully depicts all the illustrations with minimum dialogues in this book.

Hadi Rani is a folktale about a folk heroine of Rajasthan in India.The story says that she was a daughter of a Hada Rajput married to a Chundawat chieftain of Salumbar in Mewar who sacrificed herself to motivate her husband to go to war.

Since Madhubani paintings were originally made in black and white using ink as the tool, the book has also been made with the similar characteristics.
