This is the first in a series of Watercolour Self Portraits on Arches 9"x12" Hot Press 140lb. paper with Winsor and Newton Watercolours, all with a painted area of 7-1/4" by 9-1/4" . Yes, that's about the size of an 8x10 photograph, and no where near the size of a full sheet of watercolour paper ( 22" x 30" or so . .. ... ) .
This painting was completed in 3 hours on February 21st, and 22nd, 2013. The reference material was an 8-1/2"x11" print of a self-photograph, so that I could get a better view than the straight on view of a mirror.
