UCLA West Campus Carrying Capacity and Master Plan

A carrying capacity study and master plan of the 35 acres making up the West Campus identified the potential for the development of 3.5 million square feet of science and medical research facilities, graduate student housing, rehabilitation and outpatient services, office and lease space and parking. The site was organized about a central plaza and connecting to the main Campus and Health Sciences via the “bridge zone”. The plan addressed the edge conditions of the Wilshire Corridor, Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Westwood Village and the Westwood Hills residential area.
