This project attempts to moderate our responses to artistic performances through a digital interface that archives these productions into a more collective participatory forum. Through an immersive design, this study would remodel our current digital mode of art dissemination and the artist-spectator relationship in place. Users of this service could share contemporary art practices and experience it on a global aesthetic platform that is receptive to changes in time and space, therefore participating in the cultural narrative of art. This digital approach would attempt to transform the active observer’s exposure to cultural institutions and the interactions that occur in creative environments. With increasing advancements in technological accessibility and pervasiveness, art enthusiasts should be capable to instantly share art events through a contextual collective interface that is part of larger digital worldview. Through creating such a reflective performing arts community, the convention of encountering and participating in performative exhibits is restructured into a more immersive framework. Art exhibits, from performance pieces to music shows, are curated to instill a certain emotion or response from the viewer. Some works could exist purely to provoke the observer; others could work solely on aesthetics. Regardless of the artist’s original intent, the act of physically encompassing a space where creative expression is occurring is one of the aspects that forms and feeds back into the artwork. In that sense, how does one make the symbiotic interplay between the active observer and the artist more efficient? The wide applicability of technology should inform the conceptual approach to the artwork; how can we use digital media to establish a dialogue between practitioners and consumers of the arts? The most straightforward way of finding about an event or exhibition is to follow certain outlets and platforms or look into local venues that might host shows. This process could become more participatory if users within a certain region could access these gatherings and in return visually share their experience for others to see. Ideally, attendees would be able to share their experiences digitally via audio and visual means, creating a relationship of positive feedback between artist and spectator and providing another channel of integrated participation with the global collective of art users.
