26 renowned Czech artists, as well as foreign artists working in the Czech Republic, have succumbed to the charm of painting on porcelain and created more than 200 original porcelain pieces on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the establishment of Czechoslovakia, including their own triptychs of flowers. Expositions was completed with paintings, drawings and graphic sheets.

My role was to define the basic visual style, exhibition catalogue, flyers, posters and other printed materials in a short time. When designer works with art, it's easy at first glance. The main experience is provided by an art itself. But if you want to create really good result, you need skilled eye to composition, white space and typography.

The biggest challenge for me was to create a hundred-page exhibition catalogue in less than two weeks. Boris Nosek, one of the artists and also the organizer of the project, wanted to be present during most of the graphic works. I like my own comfort for work, so it was an extraordinary requirement for me. But I decided to satisfy the client's wish. Collaboration with Boris took place mainly at his home. Although he is a very skilled illustrator, Boris is poorly sighted, and therefore my macbook has to be constantly connected to TV in the living room. The synthesis of our two approaches to design made catalogue more vital. Sometimes he forced me to violate my own graphic design rules. Thanks to its presence, we have also managed to adjust more than 150 raw photos to make the colors on porcelain as close as possible to reality.

The last day before the deadline had 35 working hours for me, but we managed to deliver the catalog in time to the press - to be printed on the exhibition opening day at the latest. It was thanks to Boris's stock of great teas.
