V-RAIL CONCEPT

SILVER AWARD, INTERNATIONAL TRAIN DESIGN COMPETITION 2018, CHINA
V-Rail is a brand new concept of electric train that provides a new way of travelling using the entire complex of the railway system. This concept is focused especialy on overcroweded urban areas that allow to use this transportation inside of the cities and in the same time to conncect the centers of big cities with neighboor localities.

Moreover it aims for solving the major problems like :
-  huge traffic jams;
-  insufficiency of pedestrian zones;
-  lack of safety for cyclists on the road;
-  excesive usage of fosile fuel and oil in transportation sector;
-  insufficieny of parking spaces for automobiles;
-  passangers safety and comodity during travel or waiting for the train;
The main idea of this concept is to make possible the combination of urban transportation, automobiles and human factor in such way that this relationship to become a key of success for an easy traffic conujction in urban areas and in the same time to offer an enviromental and friendly way of travelling for passengers.
For bringing this relationship to real, V-rail concept comes with a new idea of railway infrastructure that is an assamble of 4 compartments:

An important fact is that all these 3 levels are along with the railway path ( from point A to point B)
V-Rail is an autonomus electric train with 2 big vagons for passangers and 1 small that offers an easier possibility to turn on small curves. One train can easily fit more than 150 people ( 64 seatting place – 8 special places for people with dissabilities).
Level 1 – it provides us with stationaries, cyclists tracks, benches, tables, pedestrian zone, differents stores and others. The main idea of the fully covered level that is covered with glass walls all over the entire lenght of the route is to provide a safe and addictive way for people’s or cyclists movement from point A to point B, without being affected by automobiles or natural factors as rain, snow, wind or sun, and to provide the highest comfort to those waiting for the transport in the station. In generally, Here we have the choise beetwen how to get from point A to point B: by walk, with bycycle or to wait for the next train.
Level 0 - its a partialy covered pedestrian zone with cyclists tracks, that is protected from cars by side bars. This level is basically a pedestrian zone that allows the acces to level 1 and level -1. Its basically the recreation zone with benches and bycycle tracks, coffee shops and other utilities.
Level -1 –  the main idea of this level ( that is actualy underground one) is to provide the urban areas with enought parking spaces for automobiles. In addition, this level is very important one becouse it allow people to get safely in or out of this railway complex by underground pedestrian zones so they not interact with automobiles from the road. This means that we do not need to have traffic lights that are stopping the cars at a certain time in order that people can cross the road. Moreover, by elimination of traffic lights, we save in time, so the cars movement can be continous one along the Railway Complex. Moreover, the railway complex will provide lights for roadways / pedestrian zone (level 1- Level 0).
The train can be coupled with the second one from the oposite part of the complex. This idea would be a solution for solving the peak hours problem when enough space is needed for a larger volume of passangers. Coupling and uncoupling of the trains are done by train movement due to computerisation  and connection magnets that are embedded in each train traction module. Moreover, coupling can be an advantage at night becouse of it passenger volume is much lower. This is why the trains could be coupled – to reduce the loss of electricity required for the movement of 2 barely trains.

In addition to this, I would like to mention that this concept have a big number of solar panels which are incorporated on the top of the railway complex. Solar panel will make an big  contribution to the complex, as it will decrease the total energy bill.
